Sixth Form Open Evening

The Sixth Form Open Evening takes place on Thursday 16th October, 5:00 PM until 7:30 PM.

The open evening is a fantastic opportunity for students and their families to discover the academic and personal development pathways available in our Sixth Form. Even though the event is primarily aimed at Year 11 students and their parents, we welcome students and parents from all year groups to come along and explore what we have on offer.

With an average grade of B and pass rates of 98.2% (A Level) and 100% (BTEC), our Year 13 students achieved outstanding results this year. These outcomes demonstrate the commitment of our staff and ensured the vast majority of our students fulfilled their future ambitions.

What you can expect from the Open Evening:

• Thornleigh Sixth Form Welcome Presentation, 5:00 PM and 6:15 PM in the Chapel: There are two opportunities to attend the presentation where you can learn more about why our Sixth Form is so special. 

• Subject Exploration: Meet our experienced department heads and teachers to discuss the diverse range of A Level and BTEC courses we offer. This is the perfect chance to ask questions about course content and learn more about the exciting new courses on offer from September 2026.

• Student Life: Hear first-hand from our current Sixth Form students about their experiences, the new enrichment programme, and the support available at Thornleigh Sixth Form.

• Tour our Facilities: View our dedicated Sixth Form study areas, classrooms, and facilities that support high-level learning.

• Information, Advice and Guidance: Receive support with the application process and information relating to bursary applications and SEND.

• Prize Draw: Collect a stamp from each department that you visit, and be in with a chance of winning a brand new Chromebook.
