Welcome to the Year 13 Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) hub — your go-to space for support as you navigate your final year at Thornleigh Sixth Form and prepare for life beyond college.
Planning Your Next Steps
Whether you're heading to university, pursuing an apprenticeship, or exploring employment opportunities, we’re here to help you make informed decisions:
UCAS & University Applications
We encourage all our students apply to university, even if university is not part of your current plan.
Preparation for your university application begins in Year 12 through support with personal statements, course choices, and application deadlines. Workshops and one-on-one sessions with our Sixth Form team, Group Tutors and representatives from universities will help make your application stand out. Students also have access to Unifrog - an online platform which helps students identify suitable universities, courses and provides support with writing personal statements.
Apprenticeships & Vocational Pathways
Discover a wide range of apprenticeship opportunities and vocational routes into employment. We’ll guide you through application processes and help you connect with local providers through Unifrog - an online platform which allows you to search apprenticeships by type, location and salary.
Employment & Gap Year Options
We can help you write a CV and support with interview preparation to help you take confident steps forward.
Personalised Support
Your journey is unique — and so is our support:
One-to-One Guidance Meetings
Regular check-ins with your Group Tutor or our careers advisors ensure you’re on track and feeling confident about your future plans.
Wellbeing & Mental Health Support
Year 13 can be intense. Our pastoral team is here to support your emotional wellbeing, offering a safe space to talk and access to professional resources and services.
