At Thornleigh Sixth Form, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
We meet our statutory duty under the Prevent strategy to protect pupils from radicalisation and extremism. Prevent is part of our wider safeguarding work and is in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education.
Staff receive regular training on recognising the signs of radicalisation and extremism.
We promote British values, respect, tolerance and open discussion through our curriculum and assemblies.
Students are taught how to think critically, stay safe online and challenge harmful ideas.
Any concerns are dealt with through our safeguarding procedures and, where necessary, in partnership with external agencies.
If you have any concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing, please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead, Chris Tye.
