Our sixth formers involved in the Uniformd Project continue to be busy getting nearly new, donated uniforms organised.. Our students involved in this project have been working hard on this initiative that has sustainability at its heart; raises funds for our school and gives our families year-round access to affordable, quality uniforms. A huge thank you to them for their commitment and to our parents who have donated so generously.
Each week, students go out into the community to litter pick and to help make our environment a better place. This is a great act of kindness and also an opportunity to give back to our local area.
This gives sixth form students the opportunity to develop leadership and communication skills by supporting younger students in the school with their literacy and numeracy. Mentors will work one-to-one or in small groups, helping students build confidence and improve understanding. It’s a rewarding way to make a real difference in the school community while strengthening your own academic and interpersonal skills.
Our students have been making a real difference in the community through their voluntary work. In local residential care homes, they spend time with residents living with dementia, offering companionship, supporting activities, and helping to create a warm, engaging environment. They also volunteer in nearby primary schools, assisting teachers, mentoring younger students, and inspiring a love of learning. These experiences not only enrich the lives of others but also help our students develop empathy, confidence, and valuable life skills beyond the classroom.
Our fundraising team have come together to make a real difference, raising funds to support CAFOD, Macmillan Cancer Support and a range of local Bolton charities. Through creative events, challenges, and community initiatives, they’re showing the power of young people to bring hope, care, and positive change both locally and globally. Every pound raised helps support vital services and those most in need.

Our school trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach was an unforgettable day filled with excitement and laughter! From the moment we arrived, everyone was buzzing with energy, ready to take on some of the UK’s most thrilling rides. Students braved The Big One, screamed their way through ICON, and cooled off on Valhalla. Between rides, we enjoyed ice cream and arcade games. It was the perfect mix of fun, friendship, and adventure!
Our Criminology students recently visited Manchester Crown Court for an educational trip. We had the unique opportunity to observe real court proceedings, learn about the roles of judges, barristers, and court staff, and gain insight into the legal system in action. It was a fascinating experience that brought our studies of law and justice to life, giving us a firsthand look at how the courts operate and the importance of fair trials.
Our Social Science students visited Shrewsbury Prison, a fascinating glimpse into history. We explored the old cells, learned about life behind bars, and heard gripping stories of prisoners from the past. The visit brought history to life and gave us a real sense of the challenges faced in the prison system.
Many of our Art students had an inspiring trip to the Tate Art Gallery in Liverpool, where they explored a stunning collection of modern and contemporary art. From thought-provoking paintings to interactive installations, the visit sparked creativity and encouraged students to see the world in new ways. It was an unforgettable experience that brought our classroom lessons to life.
Our visit to the Anderton Centre in Rivington was an unforgettable adventure! Students enjoyed an exciting day of paddle boarding, testing their balance and teamwork on the water while surrounded by stunning scenery. Laughter, challenges, and new skills made it a fantastic experience for everyone.
Our students have enjoyed three incredible theatre productions: the heart-wrenching drama of Blood Brothers, the electrifying energy and storytelling of Hamilton, and the magical spectacle of The Lion King. Each performance brought its own unique blend of music, emotion, and creativity, giving us a wonderful glimpse into the power of live theatre.
On Don Bosco day our students enjoyed a trip to the Trafford Centre. We explored a variety of shops, grabbed some tasty treats, and even took part in fun activities around the shopping centre. It was a great day out, full of laughter, learning, and a bit of retail therapy!
Many of our sixth form students experienced an unforgettable school trip to Vienna, Austria, a city where history, culture, and fun come together. We explored the mind of Sigmund Freud at the Freud Museum, wandered through the whimsical world of the Narrenturm, and reflected on the many moving Holocaust memorials in the city. We discovered the wonders of science and nature at the Natural History Museum, enjoyed thrilling rides and picturesque views at Prater Park, and indulged in some shopping in the heart of the city. This was truly an unforgettable trip - a perfect mix of education, reflection, and adventure!
Our sixth form trip to Krakow, Poland was both educational and unforgettable. We explored the breathtaking Wieliczka Salt Mines, marveling at underground chambers and intricate sculptures carved entirely from salt. The visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau offered a deeply moving experience, allowing us to reflect on the history and lessons of the Holocaust. This trip combined awe-inspiring sights with profound historical insight, leaving a lasting impression on everyone.
